D.I.Y. PAVILION is an installation in Reykjavik, Iceland, located on the grounds of the Alvar Aalto- designed Nordic House. We took the opportunity to approach manufacturers about this project during the economic standstill in 2009. This is a form constructed from scrap metal with free labor. My role was that of project manager: how to label the pieces, crease and rivet them, and organize the process of pulling the model out of digital into real space. 18,000 rivets were used in the process.
